In anticipation of our upcoming 28th wedding anniversary, I asked my wife and fellow glass artist, Kari Russell-Pool, to look up the traditional gift. This series of trophies is inspired by the spontaneous laughter that followed learning it was considered nothing special. We had two rules, the work would be collaborative and they should have two handles to qualify as loving cups. Two rules that at times proved harder than till death do us part. While the collaboration was not without its challenges, it was a welcome opportunity to revisit the type of glass blowing that drew us both to long careers in the medium.
